If you want to reach executive then leave and go somewhere that will develop you. Once developed you can come back as executive or stay away. Clearly no longer developing inside talent.

This is true. But, once you're out of this dumpster fire why would you ever consider coming back? It'd stupid unless Darren and Kathy dump a lot of cash on you. And we all know they want cheap cheap cheap that's why Exxon is an Indian company.
Although I'd never come back, OP has a valid point. We keep seeing externally sourced executives joining the god pod. There's no future even for hipos on our sinking ship.
Why do you aspire to become an executive here? What leadership behaviors do you most want to emulate of our current crop? Truth? Empathy? Integrity? Luxury outsourcing tourism? So much to choose from, but only one life to live!
