More likely, any sensible Indian based geo will get a few years of bp on their CV and then head to the Middle East for the better pay.

In the meantime Total announced $10B FID for Suriname development. They can produce that oil cheap at $20 bbl and still make changes to reduce emissions. BP spending billions on Kaskida where the lifting cost is around $45 to produce a heavy crude that will require subsea pumping in a couple of years. Optics look good but the reality is we have cr-ppy reserves. We traded Assets for offshore Canada, spent millions drilling a well that didn't come up with much.

Selling tacos and sandwiches are new business trends in BP. 19,000 retail folks are onboarding with BP to serve convenience stores.
Geophysicists are no longer in need in old dirty oil industry. They are on the list to go … is not a surprise with green BP!

Exploration is a game won with experience. Sadly the department has been culled repeatedly over the last 10 years resulting in many of the experienced people having left, often to other parts of bp.
