Thread regarding ViacomCBS layoffs

Don't be naive

These lawsuits will achieve absolutely nothing. This company - just like all the others that are constantly laying off employees - knows how to cover its tracks really well. The legal department is getting paid the big bucks to make sure stuff like this hits a wall every single time. If you don't believe me, google layoff-related class action suits against other companies and see how many of them had a positive result for affected employees. Spoiler alert, not many, if any.

Um, im pretty sure the space behind our Broadway hq was recently named “layoff alley” in honor of 3 pep boys and regular labor rules don’t apply.

Did anyone mention who is representing the other side/I haven’t seen. Unless the suits are from some well known labor firm, I fear its just some low grade lawyer hoping to get a small settlement for himself and getting up hopes for a bunch of unfortunate folks. Unlikely that they fire thousands of people and some unknown 1800 lawyer has caught some issue in this.

Hey if it doesn’t cost u anything to be part of these lawsuits then who cares about outcome at this stage— except bitter naysayers and 3 stooges’ stooges?

Class action looks like it's for 4 weeks of pay or so.. drop in the bucket & cost of doing business & para glad to do it in the end of a long fight. Ya the 4 weeks will be another form of NDA to prevent ex employees from filing more serious lawsuits
