Thread regarding CVS layoffs

No Smoke Without Fire

The recent buzz surrounding CVS planning to split has raised eyebrows, with the higher management dismissing these claims as mere rumors. This tactic seems to serve the purpose of calming employees and ensuring they stay committed to the company during uncertain times. Yet, behind closed doors, there’s a more serious discussion happening around the possibility of the company splitting.Adding to this uncertainty are the ongoing talks of potential layoffs. Many believe these layoffs could be a strategic move to lighten up the company before a major sell-off or spin-off occurs. This wouldn’t be an unprecedented move—when CVS was planning to acquire Aetna, there were similar rumors circulating, and the company downplayed them, labeling the news as unfounded speculations. But despite their denial, the acquisition went through just a month later. Given this history, many believe that the current talk of a split, along with these rumored layoffs, might also have some truth to it, regardless of what the official statements suggest.

Let's get real about AI technology taking over at CVS. We still have Compaq computers in the pharmacies and every time I go to a retail location their systems and point of sales devices are down. The CTO is a complete joke.

Better yet, AI won't go live because the project doesn't have enough hours.

Weak leaders is the threat... not AI.

The Ai comment is right. The chief technology officer has already said (in a recent news article) that there's gonna be an ai chatbot to answer your questions so they can reduce the number of call center employees they need. Only if the bot can't answer your question then you'll get a representative. It's so obvious CVS is looking to Ai as much as possible, to reduce human count.

Where there is smoke there is fire is a good comment.

Why believe them now?

Didn't Karen write us a note telling us not to believe rumors the same day all the business press was saying she had told Glenview that she was looking at breaking the company up.

The same people who were happy to tell us all was well are now telling us not to worry about a break up. Why believe them now?

Company is in trouble in retail, pharmacy, PBM and their new creation called Healthspire...aka Death Spiral.

Karen will sc--w it ups, as usual, and then leave with money in her pocket and go on a speaking tour explaining how we were just too d-mb to do what she wanted.

Get your resume ready. Lots of company’s posting job openings but are not hiring. CVS is going to replace most positions with technology/automation and close many stores. There are no jobs out there.
