New graduate here and was wondering how do I be successful, it seems the engineering department I'm in is sorta a mess and not getting too much help from the senior engineers so kinda on my own

Do your best to figure out who is helpful and ask questions. It’s ok to not know something, but you also have to work to figure it out. I’m in the plants, but most people I’ve come across are willing to help if they see you have a drive and aren’t just using them as a shortcut.
Whatever you do please avoid having your boss ask you for a status on the project. Also, if your boss asks for a formal weekly meeting with him or her on the project do it but be aware that you are perceived as needing help.
How much suction can you produce? That is the most critical attribute for you going forward.
I'm sure the last six years of university have taught you to adapt and be a critical thinker. If you can't dig yourself out of this hole, you will have a short and turbulent career.
Of all the companies to sign on with... At least Chevron or Exxon have formalized training and mentorship programs when you eventually are bought out. Lots of luck.
Yeah, go to a layoff board for advice. You'll fit right in at Accidental Petroleum.
Find a mentor and learn. A shame there is no formal training like most companies of this size
That is the Oxy way of managing new people. You will have to get used to being assertive and finding the assistance you need on a project. This may be more difficult these days with the hybrid work schedule and the tendency of some people to avoid spending time together in the same physical space. Kinda makes it hard to forge relationships. Good luck.
