1 week for every year of service. I was told it is not negotiable. For part time employees, they take your average number of hours per week for the past 12 months. Which su-ks for me, since I had 38 total hours. 14 year employee and my severance will be 9 hours. I have requested a copy of that HR policy several times and they have ignored me. Technically my dept shut down in May, but due to clerical error, they never terminated me until August. Not worth getting a lawyer for 9 hours, but I still have not signed the document, or returned any equipment.

It has been capped at 26 weeks.

The severance package info should have been communicated to you along with other information during the meeting with your manager and HR when the date of your termination is announced. HR will also send you the info right after the meeting through the personal email address. For salary employees, the amount of the severance is based on how long you have been with the company. One week of pay rate for 1 year of service loyalty. I do hear that the company are NOT required to pay out severance. Good luck. I hope the company takes care of your service.

HR will detail severance to you during your meeting. Did this not happen?

Is it possible later lay offs aren’t getting any? I wouldn’t put it pass the vultures trying to squeeze every penny from this company
