Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

What was the point?

What is the point of this webcast??? Murray just rambled for 15 minutes with no clear message. And then he ended his comments with, “I know you have other options so thanks for staying around.” Who is advising Murray on how to communicate? Nothing about this makes me confident our leaders have a plan.

When they say thanks for hanging around what they really mean thanks for buying us time while we decide who will be shitcanned first.

Don't be deceived, this is the same Murray that a year and a bit ago when asked what could have been done better in reinvent he basically said nothing....guy is buying time with another 2-3 year program.

BP is not what it was, Murray goes to India and Ambani couldn't be bothered seeing him and sends his kid instead....that's how hard we have fallen....

Murray looked tired and haggard. I hope his mental health is okay. I encourage him to contact EAP.

From what I gather it’s a webcast to tell people to “hold tight” and don’t go anywhere as they figure out what to do.

It’s interesting how hard he has been on reinvent. I’ve appreciated that honesty.
