Amazon had about 105,770 Managers globally; that would drop to 91,936 in the first quarter of next year. The average cost per Manager is between $200-350K/year, saving $2.1 billion to $3.6 billion next year if it cut those 13,834 Manager roles. Maybe get rid of all Managers and save $27.5 billion? Enough to open another big datacenter!

Kind of challenging for a non-Manager to fix a bad Manager, no?
non-managers are like bathroom mirrors… always reflecting problems but never fixing them.
Dead beat employees haha
Managers at Amazon are like toilet wipes - disposable.
Don’t get why people would avoid managerial responsibilities but then complain they don’t have managerial salaries.
I applied to Amazon as a manager over a year ago and still no replies. Now I know why.
I'm proud of my decision not to pursue a management route. There are increasing signs that many managers will be let go. I'm sorry to say that managers coming from Amazon may have a difficult time finding jobs elsewhere.
I saw it coming. Way too many managers. Also I noticed that many L7 were coasting. They will have a chance to make L7 work harder now if some of those L6 managers are axed.
Amzn has officially become one of the older, non-innovative companies. For a long time this board was crickets because of decent workung conditions and upwards traje
Ctory. Sign peak has passed and all downhill...
Thanks Jassey.
So what's the problem? If it's 0 Managers and 0 Workers, then Amazon splits. Managers can go to Microsoft, Walmart, etc. Better ROI.
Damn you people stupid AI about to say fu-k all u people lol
Calculation is incorrect, Amazon will be saving much more than that!
0 managers = 0 workers
So also minus the workers salaries as well. There needs to be at least one manager for an x amount of employees. If there’s no managers, then there must be no employees.
Well, with so many capable IC's you could have them be "owners" as well.
This has all been tried before with bad results. Less manager positions means less opportunites for people to advance which means many jobs are just "dead ends"
Less opportunities with less oversight means more people coasting... soon you turn into something worse than a government agency.
Okay… what’s the point of this post?
Anyone with a basic understanding of business knows that a company can’t function without managers. Removing all of them would leave the organization without any operational structure…
Elon Musk could pay all of the Manager salaries for one year!
