Thread regarding VMware layoffs

I expected more from Broadcom

I was told excellence is rewarded here. That turned out to be false, at least when it comes to former VMware folks. Instead, this turned out to be just another company that celebrates mediocrity. Talk about being disappointed. I'm getting out of here the first chance I get.

Why did God make me so rich? What is the message? May be I need to find the purpose and follow the reason God gave me so much resources. May be it is punish the idiaaats and move their money to me.

Ha, the vast majority of VMware folks are a bunch of whiny, little, self-cr-p-smelling children. I am so tired of your entitled BS. Please leave… no one wants your inclusive culture.

Trust me, it could be worse. Those of us who transferred to KKR Omnissa have no hope of a turnaround, as the shrinking sales pipeline continued to go unchecked by our rest -and-vest leaders. Status quo mediocrity is driving all the young skilled talent to leave.

Broadcom cares about one thing - making as much money as possible for its shareholders as cheaply and efficiently as possible.

If that were true, they'd cut GCA staff, they'd cut SSM staff. But because they don't, they don't. Broadcom cares not one wh-t about being efficient. Good enough is good enough!

The more you stay in the system, the more decomposed you become and bloated with all the toxic gasses. Then you float naturally to the top. The fish rots from the head. The company is already rotted up to the head and the intestines. Just the bone remains.

This is such an amazing description.

celebrates mediocrity

I don't think anything is celebrated. Mediocrity rises up naturally like corpses float to the surface.

Name a U.S. company that DOESN'T claim to be a great place to work.

Sure, some few might actually be such, but even a grueling sweat shop will lie about itself.

No surprise that Tanny lied about R&D investment, merit recognition, and more.

Take your RSUs and STFU. Do something outside of work that keeps you mentally sane. Get mega $$$$$ while you can.

That flaw in your original assessment is believe that Broadcon is a technology company that intends on a making a good product better, making a better product great, and delighting customers.

I do not believe this is true.

Broadcon appears to be a Private Equity company that wants customers money more than anything else.

They don't care who is in charge, or how inefficient the BU is.

Pay up at the end of the quarter, or you get the back of the hand.

Nothing more.

I guess reward is a strong word, the way I see it now (person looking from the outside - who left month ago), I get the sense that just continuing being employed and getting RSUs that vest is the reward.
