it is a outdated tool, clearly it doesn't matter. so why should we spend time on it?

The fact you mentioned "production" as your metrics shows you are a doer. Which is is the easiest to quantitylfy. You should be grateful all you have to do is input your metrics by year end.
Not everyone is so lucky. They actually have to show how they saved the company money, reduced cost, and some kind of improvement through KPIs.
If it was left to me the doers who have metrics I would automate your job and lay you off. Your job is redundant and out dated.
The goals and year ends are there for the company to have insight into their workforce. It's called analytics mo--ns. Learn about it

The performance review process is one of the biggest jokes and failures of leadership I've ever seen. Goals full of bs, the CVS heart propaganda etc., nothing to do with hard skills. Pathetic brainless company

Not sure how other teams do. For the team I’m in, we get 4 if we are getting promoted. Otherwise it will just be all 3s.

They need some process to figure out whether they'll give you a 2 or 3% raise and how your bonus is going to get adjusted. That's it, that's all I got.
