Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Will this ever end?

As soon as one layoff ends, we start speculating about the next, which always happens within a month or two. Rinse and repeat. I'm exhausted from always having to worry about my job. I can understand having layoffs from time to time, but all the fu--ing time??? When will it be enough?

It ends when you die or retire. Sweet dreams.

This is why we need to unionize; layoffs would be very infrequent and harder to do

I mean, layoffs started in the '70s, so I'm going to go with, "no, layoffs will never end." I was laid off last week. my team had FOUR rounds of layoffs in the last year. welcome to corporate America.

I would leave now. This is the most disorganized gaslighting excuse for a physician group I have seen in my career . It is corporate medicine on steroids, run by incompetent laypeople in MN
I was absolutely flabbergasted at the poor care for seniors I observed .

the hunger games never ends. Tributes are sacrificed at least once per quarter. If you are a recent acquisition company the intensity will be more furious until they dismantle the company and keep the parts that are desirable

You should worry. Find a new job now. That company DOES NOT GIVE A ____ about you. I worked there for 3 years. Hired as one role, moved to a new exciting role where I was getting things done! I was in the middle of a project helping patients when they fired me and about 7 people from my department. And closed all offices in my area.
