Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel was a goner 10 years ago...

Left intel 10 years ago when i saw intel tried to maximize profit in everything rather than giving back to consumers. Also all the worst engineers in other companies somehow can land a job in intel. Things that can be done with 1 chip they will create 4 to 5 chips to feed all the warlords and politicians. What happening now is expected. Reaped what you sowed. I think only way to save intel is to go under and the company has to be humble again, back to solving problems.

I could see this coming in 2012, not specifically how it would play out of course... just that the way leadership was using information and making decisions was not going to work out for the best. Stayed and fought to improve that for a decade, and now taking enhanced retirement. Best wishes to everyone still working the front lines.

Right, exodus of competent employees started in 2015. BK(razy) set in the doom, he was just a BS. Also Intel is filled with mediocrity - people from mediocre schools- ASU, OSU types. Students from Top tier schools don’t even give Intel a second look.
Now it Intel is filled with back scratchers, kissups etc.

It's really not that hard to predict the outcome, so I can relate to OP. Personally, I predicted this 7 years ago and that's when I left too. And to answer another narcissist in this post, the reason I came back to Intel Layoff is to enjoy the sweet sweet taste of being correct in prediction and look at how Intel-ians still try to defend themselves, which ironically is part of the problem why Intel fails on top of Pat. :)

@jux
Aren’t YOU the fool for staying 20 years all while “knowing” this?

I've been here for 20yrs. Rot properly started 12yrs ago IMO in Manufacturing. Been predicting this outcome for the last 5yrs, colleagues thought I was a fool. Pat's initial exuberance fooled a lot of us, nearly me too.

All you had to do was look at leadership. Senior Fellow and VP with a PhD in Anthropology. Fellows with just a Bachelor's from third tier engineering schools. Reject executives from Qualcomm. DEI women as Senior VPs.
