Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Truist Securities Pension

Truist Securities teammates were Truist Bank teammates and had a Truist pension for 6 months. Then the email came out saying sorry, no pension after this date, you work for Truist Securities now, and a pension isn't part of the plan.
Anyone having issues getting information about the 6 month pension?
We have been locked out of looking online. A few teammates were sent a requested pension statement via usps, and a few were told they never had the 6 month pension.
Surely, Truist wouldn't sc--w around
with a pension, no matter how small it is?

No, not always excluded because when the merger occurred we were all truist Bank employees, truist securities did not exist until July 2020, so teammates with 5 years service were fully vested in the truist bank pension plan.
The value or length of the pension isn't the point, being locked out of the pension site is the issue. Some getting statements while others who are vested are told they never had the pension is concerning.

Nitwit they gave sti credit for service but not pension so if he worked for brokerage for 5 years he would be vested with no pension credit. His question is does he have a year of pension credit. If they were covered by the pension deal
Only hr knows….

You have to be vested. How can so many nitwits work here with no financial acumen?

Already vested. No 5 year wait if you had worked for the bank for 5 years or more.
To the rest of the critical comments, 6 months is 6 months of pension. Truist securities formed in July 2020, and we had the pension from 1/1/20.
$20 or $7000, it's still our pension.
Why can't we view it online? Why are some being told they never had it in 2020? Why are others getting statements when requested through HR?
Just curious. No need to be snarky.
And yes, good teammates are leaving, and more will go. Just like at Truist Bank.

When I was there, it took 5 years to be vested in the pension. So, if you had it for 6 months, you aren’t vested in anything that might have accrued.

Okay so I rescind my comment
What I meant was, you fellows who think that you’re high rollers ripping off mid market companies with inferior products
Feel better now

Truist securities is the investment bank not to be confused with Truist investments which is retail and wealth asset management

This is amazing, an id--t at Securities where they make loads of money is complaining that they don’t get a pension that is designed for the folks in retail where we make almost nothing in comparison

Hasn't the plan summary always said Truist Securities is excluded? The 1/1/24 version does. If this really happened you will get a lump sum payout when your employment ends (if the present value of your vested Accrued Benefit is $7,000 or less).
