Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Top doesn’t care about morale, productivity, employees or clients

All they care about is the bottom line. Fastest, easiest and laziest lane to show the money is to cut as many jobs as possible on time to payout dividends and bonuses. What will become of CVS, or god forbid employees, they don’t care. So reduce your expectations regarding the quality of your workplace. Just don’t care either, try not to get fired, collect your pay, and look for other jobs.

The way this company shifts around employees in my department to different departments constantly like it’s just a way of life is insane. Like our teammates we’ve built trust with will literally be here one day, gone the next. Know how to increase employee engagement and productivity and make more money? Keep teams intact for more than 3-4 months at a time and let us get to know each other’s working styles annd strengths, and thrive.

Feels like I’m in constant survival mode at CVS, and I’m not even referencing during layoff periods. I’ve been at CVS 2 years and have had 5 managers. Yet they’re tracking the efficiency of our work, and can’t understand why we aren’t working faster and harder.

All the board members care about is the bottom line. Which if you look at the financials, we're just not making what the analysts want us to make. CVS is still making money and more than we made last year. Don't be fooled that CVS is going belly up.

Easy for KL to say when it's not her neck under the axe, if the board really were interested in turning the company around she would be the first to go, but alas.

I get alot of the sentiments but this is the risk of working for a publicly traded company. They are beholden to the share holders so if things aren't looking good then they have to make cuts. The bottom line is their bottom line

It's not just the top it is also the bottom. How many people are just doing the bare minimum or not doing anything at all. Yeah the top doesn't care but neither does the bottom. I lost my job today but have to admit I haven't worked hard for a long time, this place does not deserve it so at least now the game is over do not have to pretend anymore but I know I am not the only one. Really am laughing about the whole thing.

I also these lines from KL's message on heartbeat "Every day, I expect that we work together to deliver on our commitments."

"We have a job to do and people are counting on us to do it better than anyone else"

A lot of people who are being let go did this everyday and they got sacked.
How out of touch is this entire leadership the first being KL.
