Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Welcome to October

Welcome to the month when layoffs will formally begin. For all those who are lucky to be laid off, congratulations, it’s only up from here. For those who will get to stay, sorry you missed the severance and you’re stuck with a job you don’t like. Good luck to everyone!

So does the October 14 date still stand as the only day in the rumor mill?

Would the SEC filings include only the salaried employees, and not include any long term contractors?

The Yammer number is a decent estimate, and the only data point I am aware of that all current employees can see.

If you have a better source we all can see, I’d appreciate you sharing.

Yammer is not an effective measure of count. Anyone with a td email address is counted. Contractors make up to 20% to 30% of that number as they have td addresses.

The move being made is the F5 model. The company has shed 8k employees since 2015.

Truly a sad state reflectionof thecontinous jack welch model with zero value derivative.

Engage yammer current member count on the all company forum on October 1 was:
6104 members (employees)

We’ll see what it is after. Best wishes all.

Most of my team have been enjoying a great holiday whilst pretending to do work. Their approach is why bust their butts if the company is going to get rid of them in a few weeks time? Good luck to em I say as they've given enough to the company over their tenure and they deserve to go out in style

I say bring it. I for one am grateful that they gave us a heads-up about the upcoming layoffs...I have done a bunch of interviews since that announcement came out and I'm currently in the process of accepting an offer. Please fire me so I get that sweet severance while I enjoy my new beefed-up paycheck.
