More Omnissa Cuts

Not surprised but we are already stretched thin. This company is a mess I’m sorry for the people who were impacted but I’m sure you’ll find something better.

“ We still hire in Sofia, Bulgaria how is this possible?!”

Because your wages are so low you cost 1/4 of a US dev

With H1 bonuses due next Friday, I’m expecting to see more cuts next week so they can avoid having to pay them.

Who would have thought being in hands of a greedy investment firm like KKR would be a bad move.... LMAO

Nothing to do with legal Omnissa, China GSS team has already gone.
If they want more cuts, then can do it right now.

“No cuts in Omnissa China” that’s because there’s legally no Omnissa China. Hey we closed in country X, next day cuts there. Just wait for China to close.

New severance policy will come out after the first anniversary of the Broadcom buyout of VMware. I hope no change.

"This affected US employees. Severance is 2 months paid time off followed by 2 months of severance pay + 1 week per year worked capped at 12 weeks total for severance pay."

My manager said that this policy was subject to change, and not to assume anything

I really felt sorry for all the people who were so relieved to get out of bcom, thinking the future would be brighter, and perhaps as good as vmw was. those same people wasted nearly a year of not looking, thinking the above. the market forces are far too strong for the new company to survive and thrive as they did under vmw. as much as they hated the parent, that funded their existence and gave them the resources to pretend like they were an industry force. msft gives intune away and bundles critical features with it. omnissa has no answer that makes sense to any cio. sorry boys and girls, you were very relevant for a while, just not any more.

"Given this company's direction, 4k+ employees aren't sustainable. KKR has little patience and will need to show positive cash flow"

That was my thoughts about our last team meeting at Omnissa. It's just a matter of time for KKR to figure out that our current balance sheet indicates a predictable downward spiral. In hindsight, I wish that I had left before the acquisition. The future here is bleak.

Don’t walk just run. If you find any other opportunity in a stable company, don’t wait for severance.

Next month will be the first anniversary of the Broadcom buyout of VMware, which means the agreed-upon layoff package structure will expire, so expect significant cuts afterward. Given this company's direction, 4k+ employees aren't sustainable. KKR has little patience and will need to show positive cash flow, some will get a lump of coal for the holidays... unfortunately

We knew that this was coming, due to the sales pipeline shrinkage.

It's the standard KKR playbook to improve profitability. They will continue to make regular cuts in the US and other countries. Be prepared for the inevitable additional headcount cuts. Especially sales and marketing. Try to stay positive when you interview for new jobs.

This round was non-US and included only countries where local Omnissa entities had just been created.

I have known at least 3 in US, there could be more.

2 months WARN. No severance.

You know WARN is a US thing, right? This round was non-US and included only countries where local Omnissa entities had just been created.

Omnissa. That sounds like something from a saaataaaniiiic scripture. Be careful people. Always wash you hands after a handshake. Pray 3 times a day. Stay away from office as much as possible.

2 months WARN. No severance

100% false.

Up to the 1 year anniversary of the broadcom/VMware deal closing, severance is exactly what vmware's severance was (which has been discussed at length here and elsewhere)

Looks like it affected the companies that just had their Omnissa legal created, just like the layoffs that happened in the US when they became Omnissa. This was (should have been) expected.

Severance will vary based on the laws of the country.
