Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

I don’t care anymore

I’m even hoping to be laid off come next round in October. Who would want to work in these conditions and with no prospects? I just can’t stand this atmosphere anymore, and I can’t watch people being worried day in and day out. We should either learn to not care, or do something about being treated as disposable items and having our livelihoods threatened all the time.

I thought there is a confidentiality agreement with severances? You can’t talk about it. No?

Does that cap include your IBP?

"Where did you hear that severance is now limited to 6 months. I haven’t heard that?

I’m sure you won’t respond…"

It is limited to 6 months. I was laid off in the August wave, out of the RR campus. Here is a quote from the Severance documentation they sent:

"The total amount of cash severance benefits shall not exceed twenty-six (26) weeks of Base Salary." (page 6)

Whether this is different outside of Texas, I can't speak to that. GL all.

Severance is not mandatory in the US especially after the recent Elon vs Twitter. Cashing out earlier might not be a bad thing.

They now have limited the severance to max 6months.
It behooves you to get out asap. No telling what they will do with the severance offering down the road

Yeah I’m mentally done as well, debating daily to just ASK to be put on the WFR list. But I trust my manager as far as I can throw them so..

At this point, it’s probably best to cash out your seniority years while you can.

I'm with the OP. 25 years at EMC then Dell and now I just don't care any more. The execs obviously don't do why should I?

I asked to be put on the list and was offered a package. Could not be happier!
