Thread regarding Marathon Petroleum layoffs

Will the Sea Port closures/ Strike affect anything at Marathon?

Saying they will let oil tankers thru but is that reliable since people on strike can be very upset and really do not want to see any business conducted until after strike is settled.

Reading the responses to this question confirms my thoughts that no one on this site has a true understanding of what is going on.

Keeping an eye on the oil prices every week or so will show more about what is hidden from us but is actually going on. Gold is the same indicator. Strike is over but middle east War is not. Look at what they do and not what they tickle your ears with.

Reports from trains stacking up and rerouting to West. Seems to be more about shuffling Ag cars/grain around rather than oil tanker cars so far. Worth paying attention too.

The War in middle east is affecting oil prices. Iran popped 180+ at Israel yesterday and oil went up 5%.

Last week the board chair of Surface Transportation asked BNSF and Union Pacific how they would plan for a Port workers strike and everything shifted to West ports. Likely no one thought it could really happen since it's been about 50 years since last strike.
