The story is, instead of just throwing a lot boxes over the customer's fence, HPE was now throwing a lot boxes with GPUs in them over the fence.

The customers were getting those servers and saying, "cool, hey HPE, how do I now turn on ML/AI? Where's the switch that automagically converts my applications to AI?!".

The HPE sales rep would answer, "sorry, can't hear you, let me move to the middle of the fairway".

HPE cut ML/AI engineers!?!? How many? How can HPE be so stupid? There must be more to the story.

Well, I guess AI was nothing but a hype-bubble after all, as most of the cuts were to AI/ML engineers. Though I suspect we won't acknowledge it publicly during our SEC filings or earnings calls.

Yep, Antonio "Nero" fiddling while Rome burns.

Why would Antonio be worried about tomorrow? He's set for life and probably due to pick up another $20+ Million in compensation so couldn't care less how many employees are let go.

Nice to see Antonio having fun in the Mercedes pit at the F1 race in Austin today and not worrying about tomorrow. Life is so good!

Let’s see a show of hands. Who has received a one-on-one meeting request from their manager for tomorrow morning?

They waited until 10/30 for some WFR notices last year. Savage. Worked them right through year-end only to send them into the holidays jobless. Piece of sh-t company.

Has been quiet today. Get ready for next Monday. I know co-workers that were cut last June and October that can't find jobs with all the in demand skills from HPE on their Resume.

D-Day was a feat of organisation and was meticulously planned for months by thousands and thousands of people.

HPE is a braindead sh-tshow run by greedy money grabbing halfwits.

B-b-but that's impossible! HPE just won another great places to work award! Surely layoffs are.... not included when considering the winner, right? RIGHT?

No surprise, it is the culture of HPE, bad company!

Neri doesn't care about y'all... Let me remember. You'll get 2 week's to "train your replacement", but you'll use any vacation you have available and then you'll have 2 more weeks to find a job inside HPE. That means you're either in another job or cut loose by Nov 1.

You'll get a sudden last minute meeting request the morning of, typically Monday morning, with your manager and someone from HR. Next Monday and the Monday after will be bulk of it.

How do you know if you're on the hook for a layoff? Do they hit you with a 7 AM meeting invite or what?

And if course you know the manager knows what's coming but won't say anything because they only care about themselves.

Usually they time them so that you are gone by end of Fiscal. The bulk will start in a week or two to allow for 2 weeks notice before Oct 31 Fiscal Year End
