Anyone knows why Alcon laid off so many global medical safety folks?

Not many replacements so far. GMS continues to be mismanaged and there’s no real leadership. Still running short-staffed and no directors available to escalate issues to. It’s been a year and no real improvement. If anything, it’s gone from okay to much worse. R&D leaders should consider bringing in someone with actual Medical Safety to take over this team. Current VP has not done much
This is not true. How do you explain people who just got hired and didn’t have a performance record to be rated on? Or others who’ve been doing well for many years. The fact is, it came down reduce costs to inflate 2024 bonuses for the top tier. You’ll see the hiring of replacements in 2025, at a reduced rate and title, of course.
They have got new leadership and are letting some people go based on how well they are doing. Next is R&D
