Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

Union for State Street Employees

I am not a big fan of Unions but I think ib this case lower level employees would benefit if State Street Corp was a union shop. Bet we would have better benefits and perhaps a raise that actually makes a difference. Anyone ever attempted that ?

Union will not work if managers need to get paid keeping H-1b workers.

Yep the Senior Executives are like the 1st Class passengers on the Titanic living the good
life of High salaries, Bonuses , Excellent benefits.

The workers are treated like the Third class passengers , they do all the work and get paid slave wages.

Can the employees of this company get a cost of living adjustment? The pay isn’t good and you have to move to get the coin and young kids off the street that know nothing get more money. Take applications for those who want to be part of the flock!

Have you ever been on a sinking ship when one leak gets plugged and another opens? Well if you haven’t you already are on that ship.

Anyone brave enough to set up a zoom call or meet up? Allegedly it’s illegal to retaliate to employees organizing a union. It’ll likely only be US employees given Europeans have way more worker rights than we do and India staff are happier given they don’t deal with outcome of the problems. We do.

Agree how many people are given a position in mgmt and have no clue how their department runs.
They make poor decisions which upset the workers.

How many unqualified bosses find the smartest person in their department and use their knowledge to make themselves look good.

Not to burst the great idea about a Union.

As a former old timer you have to realize the U.S staff has been taking the brunt of the
layoffs for 18++ years.
Much of the work was outsourced , some is being done by the thousands of H1B workers
brought to the U.S State Street offices.

I remember when State Street was a great place to work for, great pay, benefits, being able to move up the job ladder.

Then a black cloud know as Corporate greed appeared .
Workers got tiny to zero% raises
Bones were tiny or not given out .

I'd vote to unionize just to annoy management, even if it fails. My VP, and his EVP who is an indian national, are pushing to work weekends to catch up, and we already have a 45 hour standard workweek to begin with. They have no solutions besides "you work more" because they were appointed out of loyalty to upper management, not merit. I guess good for them but the presence of a union might get them to actually contribute toward collaborative solutions instead of endless top-down idiocy. That would benefit not only State Street long term, but our customers as well.

If the ports can ask for 77 percent can we get ten percent?
