Wisk Project - Bad Decision?

In 2023, Boeing bought into Wisk, an small electric airplane company, for $450 million. Wisk is embroiled in lawsuits and has only a small potential for profit someday. How did Boeing executives in 2023 come to a competent decision to spend $450 million Boeing didn't have to spend on a high risk adventure like Wisk??? While Boeing was hurting for capital to keep from laying people off, the board of directors at Boeing spent half a billion dollars on an electric airplane that has no potential for profit anytime soon. The low stock price of Boeing is hurting employees and retirees, and here they are flagrantly wasting half a billion dollars.

Just corruption and nepotism...between Boeing and Wisk executives... Boeing has only been about generating wealth for family and friends for many years.

Seems Boeing only knows how to waste money on stupid ventures while neglecting quality investment in the work force for the last decade

The $450 million was to buy it, but that doesn't include the budget spent on Wisk since then which seems to be $70 million and an additional $95 plus unknown development costs to continue to develop Wisk.
