So many in here are denying this at the moment.
The management team does not share in your values or ethics. So stop trying to draw a line in the sand or expect some sort of fairness.
If you think going in 5-days is the end of it you are in for a surprise.
As others have said it’s “less with less”. I’m sure there will be a change of attitude in this just like the (paraphrasing here) “work is an outcome not a place or time” or “if remote work

Do moře with less has the same logic as pooing more while eating less at the same time.
