Tiny New Store - No Selection

We stopped by one of the new Macy's stores that was in a strip center instead of a regular mall, I think it was in the old Bed and Bath location. Wow, these new stores are small. If you are used to finding what you typically look for at a Macy's, you probably won't be happy. We stopped in to get a gift for our nephew and the Toy's R Us was just a couple of racks. Out normal Macy's has a toy department that's as big as half of the new store. Needless to say, we left without finding anything and had to go to Target.

Can't see Macy's being able to grow too much with these tiny new locations. This isn't what customers are looking for when they go to a Macy's.

The small format stores are a decent and clean setup. If you’re used to shopping at the larger locations you will be surprised at the smaller selection. Online pickup and returns are the main function for these sites. Not sure as far as the long term outlook if this was the best decision but only time will tell.

Guess you didn’t get the memo on the purpose of those Macy’s locations or you did and still just chose to expect to see what you wanted to see. People just love to complain about every and anything. It’s called SMALL FORMAT for a reason, because it is NOT like a regular FULL LINE store. Smdh.

I like the idea of tiny Macy’s like this for customer service and pick up orders. I just don’t think that they should put them in areas to replace full line locations.

The small Macy’s are mainly for online returns and pick ups. They are there to fill the void of a nearby full line Macy’s closure. It’s not meant for high volume sales.
