Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Get what you pay for

I have no choice to go along with this, I need to support my family.

When I worked at home, I started early, I didn't mind, I rarely took breaks, I didn't mind, ate at my desk, I didn't mind, I worked after hours, I didn't mind. The trust and flexibility was the reason I didn't mind, I had deadlines and targets which I met and exceeded. It worked.

Now, the trust and flexibility has been removed, I will mind, they'll get what they pay for, I'll still give the best I can, but within the allocated working day, nothing more.

Since driving in five days again for almost two years, I stopped anything extra. No extra work. They took away my extra time, I'll take away stressing myself for them. I now go in early to fight traffic, work eight hours, leave to fight traffic. Laptop stays off until back in the office.

Don't leave your laptop in the car, I saw someone get fired for that. Bring it in and leave by the door for when you head out the next morning.

You are laying down terms with a party that does not share your same values/ethics. Dell will keep on downgrading you yet expecting more upgrades from you.

I’m planning on leaving my laptop in the car when I get home, their loss… no more free work
