Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

How long until it all breaks down?

We are under so much pressure to work more with less and under a constant threat of losing our jobs. Our work can not possibly compensate for all the cost-cutting, even if we worked 24 hours a day and if we were superhumans. We are about to reach the point of the whole enterprise falling apart.

I gave up on this company a long time ago. If they want to furlough/fire me, then so be it. They know where I'm at. If the executive team doesn't care about the quality of the product they advertise, then why should I? Vena isn't going to care EVER! When something bad does finally happen, he'll be gone like a fa-t in a wind storm. He won't answer for anything because in his mind, he's doing what he thinks is right for the company. The real kicker here is that they just had a government hearing on why the railroads aren't growing. Oops! I guess the growth aspect wasn't addressed clearly in the PSR business model. The service at the UP went to sh1t, management was always sh1t, just much much worse now. The UP executives don't have a dam clue of what they're doing, and most of them don't even try to hide it. The sickening part of it is that all of them don't like to miss an opportunity to get on camera and tell the rest of us about how good the company is doing, but fail to say ANYTHING about how hated the company is. I'd like to see the executives address those issues with the employees. I'm sure those conversations would be quite entertaining to watch.

Its already breaking down, but elttil ymmij anev doesn't care. The money is coming in and he doesn't care how slowly, how many breakdowns, bad orders, slow orders, etc. As long as most of the freight gets there most of the time he's gonna over charge with a premium price for 3rd world cr-ppy service. Sadly the govt intervening and forcing improvements thru legal means is the only way things will improve. So until another more severe east Palestine happens, nothing will improve. The unions should be strong enough and union leadership should have had the foresight long ago to give employees the right to wild cat strike over local working conditions / bad treatment but we know how that didn't happen.
