Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

So no progress on negotiation today.

What a complete incompetent joke on both sides, u too government meditator. At this point let it go bust.

@wdn+ , the "older ones" already are vested in a pension,ie they will start receiving a pension when they retire. What was lost was the ability to add to that pension and having any pension for new hires. If you're vested and have 25 - 30 years of vestment adding a couple more years is not a big deal. What they're striving for is to get pension for the ones who don't currently have it.

Just accept the offer. At least you will have jobs. If Boeing goes down, Boeing will default on pensions and other obligations. At least you should be proud of winning…

The old ones want pension back to they can retire
The young ones want 40% so they can continue to work in the future
The union wants guarantee for future planes to keep being made in PNW
But Boeing has no future, you have mistaken
The old ones don't want to teach stuff, they want to get out
the young ones don't want to learn/do/practice the hard works to deserve the pay
Union has no guarantee of good works/skillsets that are supposed to be transferred and kept within the trades
That is why no future here

IMO giving into a 40% wage increase and restoring the pension would not look good for Kelly Ortberg in the eyes of the board of directors. He would look like a push over to the demands of the union and a weak leader. My suggestion is to take the 30% wage increase now and try again in 4 years to secure the next airplane is built in the NW. You don't want to bite the hand that feeds you , just saying.

I think the whole mess of the leaders on both sides deserve to be with Diddy.
