AI Research at QC is super competitive and you have to actually know things to go there. You can't be some generic engineer with AI adjacent work to be successful. The folks there are essentially PhDs in AI. There are supporting roles that they have in the AI space, so perhaps look for openings there.
AI in its current form a meme anyway. It's going to be DOA in 4 years so be careful. AI for object detection (arriver guys), AI for voice/audio clarity, photo touch ups etc will stick around. But this whole AI is taking over the world thing is a mere marketing prop-up to keep the economy from collapsing.
