What I truly don't understand reading this and other posts about people saying AI will replace sales is do they not know who are the people on the other end purchasing? Yes, AI will replace consumer and maybe even small business. PCs are PCs and literally every company with a full time IT person understands 90% of the way to get there on their own so a little AI app can take over that LoB. However, when you start getting into sizing for VMs, Databases, changing hypervisors, etc it gets way more complicated. Nobody is going to cut an AI App at $5M PO.
Procurement departments have vendor risk scorecards and they are building in AI as both a benefit and a risk to purchasing. Transactional PCs they might not care and see it as a benefit. Massive data center refreshes it'll be risk.
If anyone truly thinks AI is the future please go talk to customers and ask how they want to do business first. They might just have a different answer than senior leadership.
