I've been hearing that cuts have started, but I can't find any info on it. Does anybody here know what's going on? Being in a situation like this and not knowing what's going on is incredibly stressful.

It’s funny because the most incompetent person on each team is the most safe at the company. How about executive leadership needs to be let go first? They spend more on golf and room salons than most mid level employees anyway.
All the people impacted should leave their honest glassdoor.com reviews, I would never recommend working there. Good luck to the 2nd round
I second the comment about Samsung managers. Some of them (not all of them and not all bad managers who impose gapgils are Koreans either) clearly have personality disorders and cannot manage as a result. Still it boggles the mind how such people can rise through the ranks. Makes me wonder about Samsung corporate culture.
Samsung's reluctance to invest strategically is a glaring misstep. They seem stuck in outdated management practices, treating their employees poorly while trying to cut corners. They’re setting themselves up for a well-deserved downfall, maybe they should just stick to korea where they can maintain control without exposing their incompetence on a global scale. Everyone left is job hunting, couldn't pay me to buy another Samsung product!
Any idea which teams are expected to be targeted in the second round? Should we expect cuts across all divisions again? NJ office or other offices?
Warn states 125 people affected, the date is listed as late december, that's because those affected get severance through the last payroll date in 2024. I'm sure more are possible, but the size of this caught some upper level people by surprise since the original plan was for finance and admin side.
It also may depend if the TX side is doing the same, no warn notice posted for them yet.
Check the warn notice period, it actually covers September through December
In regards to the two comments on one round vs two rounds. They submitted a warn notice as required for NJ. One line of thought is that they combined in order to avoid having to place two notices with the state.
With that said, it's possible there is more planned in other divisions not based in NJ.
Heard that the two rounds were combined into one with sales included in this as opposed to two separate events.
Could be more in Q1 depending on results.
Reliable source confirmed 2 rounds of lay offs as planned by Samsung HQ, one end September, second round late October. October one larger than September. Sales to be affected more by second round. Admin, support, marketing first round
They're done for now but more to come later, whole teams gutted from marketing to customer support, not much severance, terrible how they managed it.
2 from NC office let go
Legal got bit cuts including VP
20% layoff today for SEA digital appliance employees. Mainly impacted sales/admin/project management. Layoffs were effective immediately.
What’s going on with the layoffs today? Almost no information getting out.
What we know:
- Mandatory WFH notice sent yesterday for today
- Rumored cuts in admin, sales, marketing
- Emails/Invites went out this morning
- Emails/Invites were for affected employees
- No WARN notice filled in NJ or Texas
What we don’t know:
- What teams affected / eliminated
- How many let go
- Location of cuts
- Severance
I'm in the US.
