They can't lay off every single remote worker in one go so I assume the next few weeks will bring a declaration that all remote are being changed to office based and given until end of January to make it happen whether you live close to an office or not

Exactly. I’ve heard from multiple sources that layoffs start up again next week through November. Then a little break for December and January (holidays and EOQ/EOY) and then back at it until the workforce is sub 75k. So t be shocked when MD sells off the company after the new fiscal year hits.
