Skeleton of P&T - How more can it shed?

The mighty P&T has become the skeleton on it glorious past. I hear rumours of head count reduction in the name of reorg. Can anyone shed some light on what is going on in P&T Canada??

There remain pockets of bloat and spheres of zero impact in P&T (Powerpoints & Talks). Now at least the bloat and zero impact are at a lower cost because all being shuffled to india. Robbert does not have the b---s to scruitinize the bloat in india because he has an empire to protect. But scrutiny shall come.

It’s incredible that we expect India to do any better if P&T never had any real direction or consistency. Imagine them trying to execute a project with our jumbled and cryptic standards and requirements.

Oh, maybe that’s it. Our upper management bloat and lack of direction will now just cost less because they’ll be bossing around a bunch of low cost people.

I also cannot wait to see the labor market in India reach the costs of the rest of the world. By then we will have all given Shell a big middle finger.

Ideation, investing in IP for a sustainable and futureproof company? Neh, too complicated for our investers to understand that. Like children they go for the quick win in stead of big rewards later.

P&T will be much smaller and focused in the future, focused on key items that actually add value. And non of that will be India since that experiment has failed. It’s just huge headcount for zero results in the end.

Oh what a loss, all the wannabe university professors in Posters & Talks are going to have to make it in the real world. Guess you can go find out what academia really gets paid!

"The business should own the research so they will not waste money."... LOL, yeah let's have the business with the month-long focus and constant turnover own something that that is long term. Genius.

They are high cost and not efficient. Shouldn’t be a central organization. The business should own the research so they will not waste money.

P&T was consciously axed, it wasn't an accident. Shell doesn't care about maintaining a technical workforce, what can't be off-shored to India will be contracted to vendors and EPC. Shell is becoming a property management company.

Low cost centers and TAO resources will
consume most P&T jobs. Things are happening slowly - it’s just a matter of time.

No worries!! All the P&T jobs will move to India in a matter of few years. Just wait and see.
