For those impacted by the layoffs, you should ALWAYS ask for more severance than what you’ve initially been offered. I’ve seen many, many cases where people got significantly more than what they were offered, especially if you’re over 40 and especially if you think you have info they would not want out there in the press, etc.

Just a reminder that if you opted into the legal services through our benefits, that benefit may cover a conversation with an attorney about this topic.
You've seen many many cases where employees got sc--wed by trying to negotiate
Infiltrator - who the heck are you to give advice ? What your saying is A Trap
Pray tell when is there time to consult an attorney before negotiating .... This post is bogus. Consult with an attorney for thousands of dollars ? Consult with an attorney on the phone while your at your severance meeting? You would only need an attorney to try & get your job back ... If an atty thinks you don't have a case - they'll charge you up front. If an atty thinks you do have a case - they'll take half if you win
Negotiate and you lose your signing the severance under Duress defense . This advice post must be from Para legal team
It’s best to consult with an attorney before you decide to negotiate anything.
Your advice stinks - you're a mole, misleading the process
Anyone know if we get paid for unused PTO?
that statement sounds completely bogus. you've seen so many many cases? really? first of all you're telling people if they have something on the company to extort them by saying you're going to go to the press... then If anybody actually did have something big enough to damage the company - they should'nt sign the agreement because the severance prevents you from talking about the company or bringing charges against the. Then if you do have something big enough get a lawyer and bypass the severance agreement and press charges and tell the press. Odds are the company is recording YOU rather than anyone recording the company at the severance meeting
Has there been any information on being able to keep older equipment?
