Well for those needing a job, maybe one of the Optum resources maybe dropping by the offices in the Philippines for their accelerated hiring day from 8 am to 8pm. Minimal qualifications. HS education and speak some English. Get hired on the spot the same day. None of those pesky requirements they require of American employees. Like actually knowing how to use word or a phone. And you will get prizes, free food, entertainment. You can just drop by the office by jeep, bus or van. And you can also sign up for a free bachelors degree .

It’s true. I left the company voluntarily earlier this year, but in the position I held I was involved in some initiatives, and all of the people I interacted with were in Philippines. Also, anytime you submit a IT help desk ticket, that ticket is getting addressed in Manila.
What they should do is tax these corporations or penalize these corporations that send jobs overseas and the Tax dollars go for universal basic income to support the people here who do not have employment because of outsourcing. Makes no sense to tax the heck of middle class people who are struggling to support the nation’s infrastructure. What an economic nightmare.
Go to Optum Global Philippines on Facebook. You find non stop hiring events and you get to wear a orange tshirt that says Optum and hang around outside by the hundreds while the Americans work on metrics and productivity, and maybe run to get a bathroom break. Plus I believe they have at least 5 large multifloor buildings to fill.

Nice benefits. Technology can only hire from India in Optum tech. Starting to look like little Bangalore in Optum Tech. No career growth unless you’re willing to eat your own young. Maybe couple jobs in security could be open since they are the only division that increase budget and pay when they fail at their job. Good luck everyone.
