Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

I expect layoffs to never end

Past five years, I just live knowing that ANY day, someone can be let go. I've seen good friends go over the years, and a bunch in the past few weeks (thankfully, "some" managers were at least kind enough to let some people know ahead of the 16th notice, so they had two extra weeks to fight for scarce jobs as it is). My heart to those affected recently......
Any day my badge works, is another day I can pay rent.
But yes, I expect layoffs to never end as jobs being replaced by "AI" and outsourced from America help the biggie wiggies keep their six figures and bonus money, while others fight for scarce jobs and face eviction.
Any day someone can be let go. I've just accepted that. No date needed.
Just give me a big heads up when it is my turn!!!!!

I subscribe to this view, @1dec+1uE3dEyf.

Making less money does not equal less stress. Plenty of low-paying jobs are just as stressful. They just don't compensate you as well.

I've had several friends pass away over the years. stress was a major factor. Life is short, find something that brings happiness. You may make less but you will live longer.

You will find that all those "crisis" that took you away from spending time with loved ones and family, were not really as important as they were made out to be.

True that man.

I'm applying elsewhere...I'm trying to get out before I get thrown right to the wall.
