Ok, so I’m not really paid in merchandise, but sometimes it’s feels that way LOL. Who else spends way to much a macys? I swear, I am always leaving with a bag or two, I love myself a good deal. Macys is my “fun” money anyway, so it’s no big deal, it’s just kind of hilarious. 😜

Personally, I believe that as a nation, we all have too much stuff. Look at all the Storage Sites cropping up to contain all the stuff that won't fit in our homes. Cheaply made clothing and goods that are meant for the short-term are filling our closets and if they last a season or two wind up in landfills only to be replaced with other cheaply made goods that will suffer the same fate. Buy quality and buy it once. Think about what you need- not necessarily about what you want in the moment because it's drastically reduced making it a steal. It's only worth buying if it will be worn and worn often. Years ago, the One-Day-Sale (when it actually was a one-day sale) used to happen on a Wednesday. You know why? because that was the day our department store workers used to get paid.
Thus, keeping the wage money in the store. This was no accident because Macy's knows we are their best customers. Period. Buy what you truly need, on sale if possible, and leave the rest for our customers. Remember why you work so hard- it's to earn a paycheck to support the truly important things in your life. And remember: Life is not about the stuff.
And no one could care less what kind of decor you have or how much you shop.
I think think this happens to all new workers who are young. You'll get over it lol
Very interesting take, the way you write are you from the Caribbean? Not that I care where you’re from but just asking. You are very lucky to be in that position as most people aren’t. I wish you well with all of your goods, but please stay humble
I haven't had anything on my charge in 6 months and depending on the results in Nov that will decide what I buy for Christmas ,if I buy anything at all. You should be putting money away and not spending it on things you don't need. Its tempting but at 34 percent interest is it worth it
What dr-gs are you on? (Asking for a friend.)
Also, I love Jim Shore. His decor is so cute! I have had to cut back on him though- my house is getting full lol. Macys may have its issues, but when you are working for “fun money” (vacation, house stuff, cute clothing, kids clothes, husband’s clothes), it’s really not that stressful. My husband is a lawyer- we are fine, so I don’t worry about layoffs, etc.
