Being There for Each Other

I know today’s a rough one for a lot of our team, and it’s important we’re here for each other. If you’re wondering how to help someone who’s struggling, here are a few ideas:

Acknowledge Their Feelings: Even something as simple as, “I can’t imagine how tough this is for you,” can go a long way. Let them know you’re there for them.

Offer to Help: If you’re comfortable, offer a hand. Maybe something like, “If there’s anything I can do—whether it’s looking over a resume, writing a recommendation, or just chatting—let me know.” Even the small stuff matters.

Share Some Positivity: Remind them of the good times and their impact. “I’ve loved working with you, and I’m really going to miss collaborating. You’ve made a real difference.”

Give Some Encouragement: Sometimes, a little boost can mean the world. “I believe in your skills—you’re going to land something awesome soon.”

Stay Connected: Suggest keeping in touch. “Let’s make sure we stay in the loop with each other. I’d love to hear what’s next for you.”

Let’s all make an effort to support one another through this challenging time. We’re in this together!

It's not show friends, it's show business.

You know how head hunters/recruiters always ask "if you know of someone looking, send them my way"? Well now it's a perfect time to take them up on the offer. I already have a few in mind I will refer to a recruiter. In fact I spoke to the recruiter a couple of weeks back and gave him a heads up of 9/24 to expect a call from me to refer talented ppl on my team in case they're impacted today. The recruiter is trying to field two or more roles in a company which is growing and very stable, especially as compared to streaming companies like P+.

To be honest the last thing I personally have wanted to hear is "I believe in your skills, and i believe you will land something awesome soon" why? Because it sounds like the corporate bs! I know in my heart that positivity is the right thing but what I want to hear is " this is bs and totally not fair or right" the job market for us is cr-p, it's really hard out there and the newly laid off are hurt, bruised and bewildered. I am not putting your comment down and after the shock period these are good positive words to use!
