All the mediocre white dudes in this company pressed about DEI need to look no further than the 15th floor to see that the top 5 leaders are white males, not to mention the majority of leaders group. You can scapegoat the underrepresented minorities in the company but they’re not the problem. Women make up 20% of PSX, and the other subgroups similar or less numbers. Look at all the non DEI faces around you before you lay the blame please.
This used to be a company I thought I could retire from, be proud to work for and have an engaging and prosperous career. Not anymore...
First of all, Z’s gotta go. The ERP/AE66 sh!tshow should’ve been enough to fire her.
But I disagree with the premise that her corruption, power & influence she wields is because of her USSR background. Those things are prevalent worldwide, including the US. None of the ELT or leaders group got there simply by excelling at their jobs. Thats not all it takes, in any company/industry. You have to “play the game”. People not willing to do that don’t have a chance, unfortunately.
Agree with the ZG commentary and it’s important to remember where she’s from. She grew up in the USSR and for context, it was a massively corrupt environment where one didn’t get ahead by simply excelling at one’s job. Influence and power were accumulated for the few who would become the elite, and I think that’s what we’re witnessing here. A silver tongue, embellishing one’s record, offering support or favors in exchange for future benefits. It was office politics on steroids and it’s in her psyche. I’ll note it runs in her family, her daughter was a reporter and married Peter Orzag, former Obama cabinet member and current CEO of Lazard. Power and influence…

ZG started this whole mess (with GG’s support) 7 years ago. IT, Procurement and Facilities sent up warnings for years, before her “strategy” hit the field, only to have them completely ignored. Worse yet she was rewarded with more money, power and position. GoGo fell right into her hands
Go back and look at GG’s final townhall. At the end when all the other ELT are shaking his hand, ZG’s is in the back with GoGO holding his arm and starting her campaign. But better find it quick as she has a history of having videos deleted that contradict her story of the day.
Ol’ GoGo and the ELT are worse than jokes. For us in the field they’re known as royal eff ups.
Give it 5 years. Not enough money has been raided by our short term thinking big block investors yet.
