Does anyone know if Intel offers extra benefits in the severance package for employees over 55 who've been here a while? Is there any additional compensation or perks for older workers when layoffs happen? I'm not in that age group, mind you, I'm just curious.

F the older ones. They got us into this mess
Let me guess, you're one of the stoned MT's who frequently take 6 hour breaks?
@wde if this were true, they would be filing WARN notices by now. They haven’t filed a single notice in any state this year, and the deadline is 60 days from the day of termination. Given that Nov 15 is only 52 days away, it is most likely that everyone is getting some sort of package
ISP gets no package at all. Yes some older ones will but very very few. Vast majority will be absolutely nothing.
@mas these are online "journalist influencers" LARPing to get meaty information about Intel.
Any time I wonder why Intel is where we are today, I see posts like these where people ask the most easily answered questions of all time.
This stuff has been crystal clear for months.
And over and over Intel employees either can't read, won't read, or are legitimately stupid.
Btw, Intel was generous enough to give the ERP to anyone who retired as part of CPM since Jan 1, 2024.
We all received this email a few weeks ago. 😃
All of this has been clearly described in company communications and documents.
Also in the US a $10,000 bonus
Yes, if you meet the qualifications for retirement—which can vary by region (for example, the US has three different criteria for the "enhanced retirement" package compared to a standard severance package). Generally, this includes an additional six months of COBRA coverage and a cash payout, and if you’re of Medicare age, you can cash out the COBRA benefit. Additionally, there’s typically an extra eight weeks of pay. Benefits may differ significantly by region, and in many cases outside the US, the offerings tend to be more generous.
