Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

You deserve better

I spent three years at Intel under a manager with zero leadership skills, having to deal with unrealistic goals and toxic team dynamics. It wore me down physically, mentally, and emotionally. I finally left last spring, and I haven't looked back since.

I'm now in a healthier work environment where I earn more money, am surrounded by a supportive team, and get to learn new things every day. It took me a few months to find a job, but the break was so worth it. If you're feeling crushed by a toxic, fear-driven atmosphere, start planning your exit. Trust me, there’s a whole lot more out there.

I spent 10 years at Intel, left for a FAANG company, and am now with a ~400 person privately held company. The transition from Intel felt like having a weight lifted from my shoulders. These other companies make decisions quicker and team members are empowered (and rewarded) to get things done. I will be forever grateful for my Intel experience - yet leaving was the best career decision I made. While this forum (the bartender and therapy) are fine for venting, recruiters and new companies want the best of you - leveraging what you learned at Intel, bringing your experience/intelligence into their company, and focused on making an impact. Bring your best self to this next phase of life - and thrive.
