Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Let Qualcomm acquire us

Maybe they can do something with this place. They certainly can't do worse than Pat and his cohort. The more I think about this, the more it sounds like a great idea.

Qualcom is half as big as Intel and ftc will deny it. Learn to google.

“… they are likely looking for a way into the PC business via a deal…”

They’re in the PC business. They’re in a range of laptops and Microsoft has set up that creepy “Copilot” that screenshots your every move on their processors.

To be clear, Qualcomm wants to acquire Intel not us.

“ Qcom runs at breakneck speed with superb execution.
Intel is a godaammmn tortoise.”

This is why Qualcomm just wants the IP, and not the whole carcass

Don’t see it happening, they are likely looking for a way into the PC business via a deal , but not to buy … can’t afford it, anti trust won’t allow it, and it would never work culturally.

The culture mismatch would be a sight to behold.

Qcom runs at breakneck speed with superb execution.
Intel is a godaammmn tortoise.

I don’t think Cristiano Amon is d-mb. He’s not going to sign up for this.

Pat can become CEO of the soon to be separate Intel foundry. Qualcomm or any other fabless semi company would be crazy to buy it too. Just add IFS to their vendor list with TSMC and Samsung and use the one with best tech and price.

At least they would quickly take care of the bloated headcount.

Mergers usually results in mass layoffs because the buying company wants to ensure it generates enough ROI for the purchase. It would likely not be good for Intel employees if the company were sold off.

Pat won’t have a choice. Board decision. Pat can have an opinion, but he’s not the decision maker.

We don’t want this. More of us will be fired due to redundancy. And those who remain will be treated like the red head step children

Who would be the CEO of the new "Qualtel"?? Pat Gelsinger or Cristiano Amon? Would Pat agree for a sale if he is not CEO of the whole entity?
