@3lff+ , Unless you are in a non-union position you won't get furloughed. SPEEA and other union positions won't / can't be made to take a furlough !!!! If you are non-union BUCKLE UP you're in for a Wild Ride !!!! If you are in South Carolina where there is very little threat of you finding another job while furloughed, unlike up here in the PNW, YOU are in for the ride of your life I'm afraid !!!! Boeing looks at you like you owe them for moving there to begin with and as far as they are concerned it's time you pay the piper !!!!
@3lff+, whether you remain at boeing or go somewhere else, the threat of furloughs will be a part of your entire working career no matter where you go. Start setting money aside in an untoucheable savings account, and I do mean UNTOUCHEABLE. Determine how much take-home money you need to pay all your bills, mortage, food expenses for a month. Once you have a month buffer built up continue to build it up until you are at 6 months. 3 months is a minimum. Someone should have told you this a long long time ago. I am sincerely sorry to hear you are in your current situation and hope you don't get furloughed and get through this !!!
I'm legitimately going to struggle buying food for my family and paying my mortgage thanks to this furlough. We had medical bills the last couple years and it wiped out our savings. I'm looking for a new job. This su-ks.
