US: Did they think 'Day for Me' would fix it?

Is this day for me Cisco's way of saying "oopsie, i hope 12 hours off makes it right!"

Keeps the plebes from rioting, metaphorically speaking. You like Cigna? Forget it—UHC only. Good luck getting credit for money spent on your high deductible health plan. Get used to denials, even for minor medical needs. You like PTO, so you don’t feel pressured to not take some arbitrary vacation time off? Nah, sorry. What other benefits are getting the shaft next year? If it’s real money, get used to less. I’m outa here after the new year. I’m not the only one.

Unlimited PTO means you no longer accrue vacation time.

I don’t even think Cisco leadership puts that much thought or strategy into anything. Seems like they are just phoning the product strategy in and gaslighting all of their employees. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many people on my team being burnt out. I can’t see how this is a maintainable position.

It was timed and the layout was figured into annual plan. It didn't just randomly show up a week after notifications

Unlimited PTO is never marketed as a perk. At least cisco was man enough to state it was a financial benefit to the company! Now you’re a slave to your manager and your team! If you are part of a group of workaholics who never take off, like of of the managers I work with, you can forget about PTO’s

Most “employee benefits” are crumbs designed to make you think they care about you. Day for Me. Unlimited PTO. RSUs. Shutdown. I could go on. They are benefits that appear to help the employee but all have an ulterior motives that benefit ELT a lot more.
