Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

How to sharp your skills and keep improving while working in citi.

No ranting please because we have plenty of them on the board.
Some of us are stuck in Citi while job market is kind of bleak. As the title suggested, how can we utilise the resource to learn and get better? I am trying to understand the business side of my project extensively. We have free access to udemy but the courses there are even not as good as the free ones on youtube.
So, how do you learn at your current citi role? Do you have any suggestions?

Citi has a lot of good programming resources you can get from DevTools. If you're in Tech, take advantage of GitHub CoPilot to learn programming. The sky is your limit there -- JavaScript, Python, Java.

work after hours on your own time. I don't recommend learning Citi specific knowledge. That is only good for this job, work on general knowledge that can transfer within your industry. It will cost you to study early morning and late night before and after your shift. Chip away a little at a time and eventually you can make your move, whatever that is. Change takes time, be patient and follow your plan.

Nothing much can be done due to the nonsense of micro management.

@ret+1uEBD1Df - re: test lab in spare time. Can you please elaborate on the benefit of one's own testing lab? To work on my own project in our spare time after work? Thank you.

I have no idea what your area is but if it’s tech…..
You can’t go wrong with setting up your own test lab at home.
Microsoft, CISCO, various hacking, storage etc… training sites offer free training as well.
All of it on your own time of course.
