Qualcomm to explore takeover of Intel

Qualcomm has approached Intel to discuss a potential acquisition of the struggling chipmaker, people with knowledge of the matter said, raising the prospect of one of the biggest-ever M&A deals.

California-based Qualcomm proposed a friendly takeover for Intel in recent days, according to the people, who asked not to be identified discussing confidential information. The approach is for all of the chipmaker, though Qualcomm hasn’t ruled out buying or selling parts of Intel in a combination.

“ This will not happen, Intel can survive on its own and will be worth than Qualcomm in couple years"

This is classic display of Intel hubris that puts it exactly where it is now. At the very least it has to split and cut more deadweights in order to survive in the next 2 years. But guess what? This is not in the best interest of the shareholders that the board is supposed to uphold. We can draw from here what the next and obvious episode will be…

Let me correct you here: Intel CANNOT survive on its own..that is plain..or have you not been paying attention?
$50 Billion in debt, market share is shrinking, inferior products, inferior process. Do tell us how Pat will get us profitable? Even the CFO said any significant progress will be in 2027...that means maybe not bleed so much..by then Intel will be $100 Billion in debt...
You must be a 2nd line manager whos' been smoking too much
