We know nothing - how long this will last, how many people will end up losing their jobs, how restructuring will look like, whether Intel will even exist in its current form in near future. Maybe there will be a spin off of foundry, maybe someone buys the rest of the company, maybe, maybe…We are facing months of chaos and uncertainty before any resolution. In the meantime, morale and productivity is tanking.

Intel has a history of dragging these things out so I am not sure why there is such surprise. They announce it and then go collect data and analyze it over and over and over. It is kind of like they way they announce new products or technology way in the future of the actually release. It get pushed out a few times and when it is finally released it doesn't look anything like what they first presented.
I love it. You see peoples true colors. Dont forget it
I was fortunate to receive VSP and leave the company over the summer. I had been wanting to move on, but it took longer than expected. After starting a new role, I realized just how much the environment here delayed my goals, impacted my skills, and affected my happiness. The multiple reorgs and layoffs, multitude of managers and ceos, toxic culture and politics, slow pace, misses or downright failures one after another, and the lack of true teamwork took a toll. Now with exciting new opportunities, I feel rejuvenated. My advice: move on from this place as fast as you possibly can. Best of luck, and keep pushing forward!
If folks didn't plan for something like losing their income, that's on them. Losing their house, car, etc. will get no sympathy from me, except for the children who have no choice.
True but a lot our lives depend on it. People will lose their homes, have to bring kids home from college and lose their families because of their actions.

Intel is never a family even in good times. The snakes are always using and abusing others. And they want you to think that we are a family so they can operate. Keep the cows happy…It’s just during good times we are not looking for it. But if you do look and think about it you will see they are doing their shady sh-t just no one cares
It's like a mugger asking for you wallet and pointing a g-n at you, but when you hand out your wallet, he goes "Wait a minute, I'm not sure if I want your wallet, just stand there while I think this over".
This ain't my first rodeo, but the times I got bucked off the horse, worst case it was maybe a week of uncertainty before the bandaid was ripped off. This is insane.
A lot of people probably have to consider wait for a possible severance, or switch jobs before the rush when everyone is canned.
When a company is doing well, they say: We are a family.
When they start doing poorly, they say: We are getting a divorce and it's all your fault.
This is why I decided to leave and September 30th is my last day at work. It is downright depressing to see empty aisles and utterly demotivated employees. The executive management is responsible for this situation. Pat is where the buck stops.
Your life dont depends on intel corp. Or only revolve around intel corp. It just another workplace
There is risk in everything. It is up to the individual what level of risk they are willing to tolerate. So many things can go wrong at any time, just look at what happened when Covid kicked off.
So plan for the worst, hope for the best and live life to the fullest.
