Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Bad tech job market is here to stay

And I’m terrified. I wanted to leave QCOM f, but now I’m rethinking it. Which also puts fear of being laid off squarely back into the picture.

Usa wants to replace china with india. Replacing one leech with another while the politicians in washington become richer.

OP: No - job market is only bad if you are unwilling to move. Check around BA. Plenty of opportunities. San Diego makes you complacent. Quite some old farts in fruit company and search company moved to SD and have brought in their South Asia tribalism. Staying in these groups is not good for either your physical health, mental health or skillset improvement process. Virginia, Boston, parts of Austin, Miami and Atlanta are offering good opportunities. I would keep Austin or Miami as my last resort, but that is due to personal reasons (outdoor scene is horrid).

Most tech jobs are moving to India or AI is able to replace that job. Recession in USA is on it's way.

start looking and try grabbing an offer before you get the email. Question of when really and not if and this is the reality for everyone.
