Can the big 3 get rid of the union? Other automotive companies are prosperous because they have no UAW. These companies are making good quality products at a competitive cost and people are willing to buy. No Union = No Layoffs.

"Stand up stellantis...keep the promise"
Excuse me...what promise was this aside from chasing profitability?
Stand up stellantis...keep the promise
Ford might be doing the same, but Stallantis is firing lead engineers and managers. What they are afyer is not paying benefits. Union workers don't make as high salaries, but benefits are good with a contract. Salary exempt...not so lucky. So when they fire engineers they bring in a contract house to replace them. A lot of times the very same engineers they lay off come back as contract and have the same offices...less the benefits. This is the way fir the C suite at all 3 major US OEMs. It's either this, or LCC's but those are your choices.
Ford needs to expand from just making automobiles. They have to excellerate robot production to stay competitive. Vehicles are no longer a moat for them. Evolve or perish...and EVs aren't enough.
This is a terrible take
@OP How is it the Union's fault
because they endorse and support those left lunatics in the white house that mandates ev policies
Eat the rich. Record profits = record contracts.
UAW planned to go on strike at Ford and Stellantis
As much as I cant stand to look at Fain, because he's just another pawn in the Left Right paradigm of our political system......and knowing he's too d-mb to even realize it.....
I'll love to see him sticking it to the leadership of this company. Maybe a strike might be the straw that breaks Billy's camels back and start the house cleaning of the c-suite.

Oh here we go another if it wasn't for the unions nobody would make it what they make.
Outside of your narrow view of how things actually work the union has nothing and I mean nothing to do with setting the price of white collared jobs. I'm not crapping on unions and I'm not cramping on their value or worth but please stop with the we owe everything to the union because we don't
How is it the Union's fault that this company is losing billions of dollars a year going ba--s deep on EVS knowing full well that the majority of this country wanted nothing to do with them.
You sound like some shill wanting to pretend like the leadership of this company is anything but incompetent.
If Ford engineers in the US were smart, they would organize. They are picking you off one by one and sending your work to LCCs.
I personally have no beefs with the UAW. I retired a few years ago as a salaried employee. Yes I would have run in with a UAW Person and also had some very productive times as well.
I worked at Ford. In the case of Chrysler. to open a plant when the dealerships have vehicles stacked to the streets is ridiculous. The market dictates what a company can do not labor.
As for those OEMs without a Union well they seem to be doing pretty good. you don't see the us vs them like you do in a US plant. Also in fairness the foreign OEMS you don't have the inflated bonuses like you do at a GM or Ford.
The US companies continue to loose market and volume. Quality is in the toilet do to poor management more focus on cost savings vs quality or controlling complexity.
for those who think engineers have all this power. think again. we don't. we are directed even when something is pointed out.
Union sc-m have too much political influence. You'll never get rid of the vermin.
Explain exactly how the Big 3 is supposed to “get rid of the union”. Christ, crack open a history book before you post something so ridiculous.
So let the unions bleed the companies dry while they complain about having to work a prop up their corrupt communist office?
Yes, Tesla has no union, and has never had a layoff, except when Elmo wants to get rid of slackers.
Typical billionaire class shill… You forgot to mention in the non-unionized facilities how the employees are paid dog sh-t and cannot afford the products they produce? If you got rid of the union: the US auto industry as we know it would not exist. Everything, and I mean everything would have been off shored years ago. So keep shilling for your billionaire over lords. Takers have no limit to how much they will take. Givers are the only ones who can set the limit to how much they give.
