We were told first week in July Apache intended on putting 4 chunks of its Permian Basin portfolio on the market. In August we were told they were taking bids. Come to find out it was all to keep us working until the deal was done. Hilcorp bought it all July 1st. It was a coordinated effort from management. I’ve been here 13 years I know Apache is a shell of the company it was but wow. I talked to other offices and they were told the same BS. Apache has no shame.

Yes the deal was done July 1st. This came from their mouth on accident. We have also been told Hilcorp has been paying the bills since July 1st by multiple people in management. I’m not sure why you were told different but it’s simply not true.
What would have done if I was told the truth? I would have been given the option to look at what was out there or to get a retention bonus. It might not have been so bad if they gave the retention bonuses they kept saying they planned on doing. It was also a lie to keep us working through the deal. It just shocks me to be thrown out like trash by the company thought would never do that.
Hilcorp did not buy it all July 1. How do I know? I was with another company competing to buy the assets. Bids were due in August, there was a second round and it was a competitive process between a bunch of buyers. Hilcorp might have been working the deal earlier but they most definitely did not buy the assets July 1.
Apache has no decency treats its people like dog p-o they are bringing people in like car salesman that are good with there mouths and no practable experience but they will soon be found out they have paid off good experienced dedicated engineers who ran the depts at site good and relationships with the nationals great

How would you have done things differently had you been told the truth?
This kind of cr@p happened at all all all companies. Nothing new about this kind of situation and sh-----g behavior from the executives.
