GF makes claims their "Essential Chips" are part of the AI revolution, however, I don't really see where GF fits in the AI ecosystem. I think the best bet for GF is try to win back the RF business and try to become important in the automotive market. The problem with automotive in the past is GF did not have the right skills, possibly with all the hires from Texas Instruments coming in GF will find a way to become a player in the automotive business. Unless GF turns the ship and quickly the road will be bumpy moving forward and revenues and market cap will continue to shrink.
No where. AI requires lower node tech. Sure can try and make some - no one will want them.
